9/21 9:00 PM at MacDonald Arena vs. Carey Homes L 4 - 0
Moldy gear took center ice and the sisters got off to a slow start. At the end of the first period, the
score was 3 - 0 and the only action on our side of the board was Judy's 2-minute penalty. Top
van story: A trip to the District tournament in Fairbanks is ruled out.

There was a skeleton crew for the first victory of the season -- obviously we do not yet have our
priorities in order! Nice conditioning for the few and the proud.

OCTOBER
10/2 7:15 PM at UAA vs. Re/Max                                                                 W 4 - 0
Our bench runneth over and there was so much action the scoreboard had a breakdown.
Doggone it, we're just middle class gals from a small town, far from being NHL elite insiders but
gee golly gosh we sure can skate -- wink wink -- you betcha!
10/5 4:00 PM at WSC vs. Moose's Tooth                                                   W 4 - 3
Hebert gets a hat trick, securing her legendary status in the eyes of the student fans. And Mindy
gets a nice goal from the blue line -- the other team's blue line that is.

Despite a stellar effort from the offensive unit, we only managed to salvage a tie. Drat! Thanks to
Grandma Paula for keeping score.

Because of our superior conditioning, we were able to keep the game close right up to the final
seconds when our breakaway was stopped by their penalty. Grrrr...we'll get 'em next time.
(And hey, how about those Red Sox?)

In hockey, as in fashion, sometimes you are in and other times you are out. Tonight -- we were in
and mostly we kept the other team out. Auf Wiedersehen.

Someone waxed her stick with a floral-and-vanilla scented candle, proving that female hockey
players are still in touch with our feminine side. Can potpourri in the locker room be far behind?

temperature controls in Shelly's new mom van? It's all good then.

Cooper gets four assists for loaning his left shin guard to Hebert. Mindy gets three assists and
her first playmaker of the season, Maribeth has a goal and two assists and Diane puts in a goal
and assist. Ladies lightin' the lamp -- going for the multiples!

It may as well have been 75-1 for all the offense we could muster. One moment of brilliance
when Laura flip-passed to Shelly and...th-th-th-at's all folks!

DECEMBER
12/7 9:30 PM at MAC vs. Re/Max Mary Cox                                             W 7 - 2
Not only did Shelly assist Cam with his power point presentation, she also presented a few nice
power point passes to her teammates and ended with 3 assists for a playmaker. We just hope
Cam's report was an "A-maker." Get it? Playmaker? A-Maker? Oh come on, work with me here.

Its not easy being beautiful and nice while playing four games in two days, participating in a
below-zero triathlon, AND staging a fabulous hockey tournament. Way too much to ask that we
win the late game on Sunday night, too. Happy Holidays sisters -- you're the best!!!!!

JANUARY

When does a tie feel like a win? When you've been eating cookies for two weeks and not
skating very much but still manage to come back from a 2-goal deficit. Happy New Year!
1/11 9:30 PM at Mac vs. Carey Homes                                                        T 5 - 5
There was no alibi for the u-g-l-y first period but fortunately we recovered in time to preserve our
tying streak. Nice hat trick Hebe.
1/18 8:15 at Mac vs. Moose's Tooth                                                           W 4 - 2
You say Mindy, I say Holly: Mindy! Holly! Mindy! Holly! These girls had it goin' on. As for whether it
should be U14 or U16 or a combo? All I know is we're still U60 and if M has to occasionally
wear the B to get the W, that's just fine with us.
1/25 9:45 at Mac vs. All Stars                                                                      W 7 - 2
A collective sigh of relief upon the return of Laura. She came back with a vengeance -- 5 assists!

FEBRUARY
2/1 9:00 at Mac vs. Re/Max Mary Cox                                                       W 6 - 1
On a cold dark corner of Lucille, there was a close encounter of the ungulate kind. Not a good
start on the night but we did our best to finish strong in Maribeth's honor. Along the way, a new
p.r. is set for how late we can leave the Park-n-Ride and still have time for warm-ups.
2/8 8:00 PM at Mac vs. Borealis/Vets                                                        L 4 - 0
A short bench, some bad bounces, and questionable substitutions by our opponent combined
for an irritating yet unsatisfying game. We thought it would never end and then it did.
2/15 9:30 at Mac vs. Carey Homes                                                             T 3 - 3
A little bit of helicopter action in the defensive zone but we held on tight. Our hearts go out to
Mindy and Mike and our congratulations to the MAHA PeeWee B's.
2/22 8:30 PM at Mac vs. Moose's Tooth                                                   W 1 - 0
Sticks were flying and shoulder pads were missing in an epic goalie battle. Nice shutout Tanya!

We looked good in the photo and then we looked good on the ice, too. Can't ask for much more
